The Mckinley Railway Project has assembled a top-notch team of contributors to help construct this web site. The team will focus on creating content and adding information about computer control, DCC and operator interaction and reliability. Instead of working in behind the scenes, we would like your input and ask for comments on what information would be useful.

Stub. Before you start to design your track-plan for you dream layout, it would be good to read the book written by John Armstrong for on "Railroad Operation". Before you lay a metre of track, consider designing the whole layout using a railway CAD package such as x and Y. |

Model Rail is featuring McKinley Railway in the May 2009 issue. The article entitled "Britain's most high-tech model railway" describes in easy terms how the computer controlled layout works. It also goes on to explain how the layout is operated in practice allowing the operators the pleasure of running parts of the layout while the computer runs trains at realistic speeds on the main lines.
