Computer control is simply a way of setting up a computer to run a model railway. This means adding a computer with appropriate software to an existing layout which is set up with components which ‘talk' to each other all the time, allowing trains to run safely.

The key components

Computer software

DCC Command Station

Block detection

Point control

A connection ‘ring main' or ‘bus' which links all the components together. We use the LocoNet system by Digitrax, but others may be used.
